A good friend recommended West Coast Metalcrafts when I complemented the hand rails at two different locations at her home. She raved about how great they were to work with.

When planning a banister that gave physical support when stepping out from our family room door, two steps down to our patio, they explained a couple of options possible. They also described the choice of finishes.

My husband and I are happy with the completed job and can't believe we waited so long to ensure the safety of everyone, including ourselves, using those steps.

Absolutely wonderful craftsmanship, excellent service and a great price. I had been having terrible luck getting a security screen and a short gate. Other copanies said nothing would fit or they didn't do this tyoe of work or just no-showed. We went to WCM office, we looked at books, they send out a person to measure promptly, he asked questions about exactly what I wanted and he drew it up right in front of me -matching design of door and gate. About 20% down and they said 4 weeks to custom create. In three weeks they were ready, they came out and installed with great care, even bringing paint to ensure any little marks made during installation were created. I couldn't have asked for more.

We've hired West Coast Metalcrafts to create New Orleans French Quarter style metalwork for us three times in the past (most recently within the past month), and the quality has been exceptional each time.  My great grandfather was a Danish coppersmith, so I especially appreciate metal craftsmanship.  These gentlemen are true craftsmen.  I've seen their shop and they way they work, in addition to the results of their work.  Although I have some background in art and architecture and designed the metalwork they did for our front porch, I left the design of our gate entirely to them, and from an artistic perspective their design is exceptional, as well as the high workmanship in implementing their design.  Attached are photos of the gate they finished within the past month, as well as the earlier front porch metalwork (sorry some are sideways -- they don't appear that way on my computer).  In short, I highly recommend them!

We had ornamental iron work done to our front and back windows, a gate for our driveway, two security doors for our back doors (much nicer than the one you purchase from Home Depot, they even put it a doggie door).  We were very happy with the results. I recommend to call first to make an appointment, then go to the the store with some pictures and measurements of your windows for example. They have books of photos that you could browse for ideas. You then choose the style that you want. The more ornate, the pricier it will cost. Cynthia will email or text the quotes afterward. Once you settle for a price, they will come out to measure and give you a time frame when the iron work is ready to install. We are happy with the work and the installation.

A year after purchasing my house, I realized that the railing on my back steps were not in the best condition. I called to see about obtaining a quote for the work. As I was talking to them, I realized that they could make ornate railings and figured I'd get a quote for something special and not just fix the boring railing that existed. I figured it would cost too much and that I'd scrap the idea, but I was pleasantly surprised by what they quoted me. Because I like to ensure I'm getting the best price possible, I sought out pricing for similar work from another company, but West Coast Metalcrafts' quote was less expensive. In the end, they did the work and I'm so happy that they did. I smile when I look at my railing now because I feel like it was made just for me and it adds such pizzaz! The entire process was easy and everyone I dealt with was nice - especially the girl in the office (Cinthia). She was the first person I interacted with there and I appreciate good initial interaction with a company. I think it speaks volumes of what future interactions will be like. I will definitely go back to them if I need their services in the future and refer everyone that comments on my railing,to them!

Work done:  Implemented my design for four New Orleans style porch columns/arches with railings.  The metal work was also sent out for "metalizing" (corrosion prevention coating) and was painted.

Details:  They were exceptional and I highly recommend them.  I will be using them for continuing similar work on our house.  More specifically, they were very cooperative and patient with impementing my design, which involved a number of unique features and issues that were not typical for them.  They came to my house and took careful measurements.  When the parts were ready to be assembled they invited me to examine their work for any necessary changes.  After they finished welding the parts, they brought them to the house to custom-fit them, since the lines of houses (especially old ones, like mine) are rarely perfectly parallel/perpendicular.  They then sent the metal work to be "metalized" (coated with a material to protect it from corrosion), and after that was done, installed it, again giving me the opportunity to inspect the work and have any necessary changes done.  All of the metal work was very well done, at what I believe was a reasonable price.  As I mentioned at the outset, I will be having further metal work done by them on the rest of our house.

I ordered stair railings and two gates.  Although the cost is expensive, I got what I paid for with excellent, courteous service and outstanding workmanship on the gates.  When I asked for reinforcements of some of the railings installed, they did so without any extra cost or hassles.  I would definitely recommend this business, and I am taking my mother-in-law this morning to visit their site to order two iron screen doors.
